CHELSEA — A 16-year-old Thetford Academy student pleaded not guilty Wednesday to seven counts of felonious sexual assault involving five female classmates, documents from Orange Superior Court show.Connor Tatro, of Post Mills, is being tried as an adult, court officials said.
In a letter to the school community Wednesday afternoon, Head of School William Bugg said the assaults “allegedly took place in several locations on the (Thetford Academy) campus both during and outside of school hours.”
Police said in an affidavit that the assaults took place between spring 2016 and spring 2017.
Bugg first notified the school community of the investigation into the student’s actions in written communications earlier this month.
He asked anyone who is “aware of an incident that requires our attention” to contact Dean of Students Siobhan Lopez at 802-785-4805, ext. 218, or to call Bugg at ext. 211.
Anyone with information pertinent to the case should contact Detective Lt. Scott Clouatre of the Orange County Special Investigations Unit at 802-685-4712, Bugg said.
