The suspects in a high-speed chase through central Vermont are now facing charges of burglarizing the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Vermont State Police say they tried to stop a car Jeremiah Sadler, 25, of Barre, was driving in Williston on Thursday. Both Sadler and the car’s passenger, Kyle Larrabee, 23, of Washington, were wanted on arrest warrants.
A trooper stopped their vehicle in Williston, but Sadler hit the gas when ordered to get out of the car, according to a police news release.
Sadler allegedly drove through Taft Corners at high speed before heading south on Interstate 89. The chase led through Richmond and Waterbury, then moved south along Route 100, before heading north again through Moretown.
Eventually, Sadler was stopped when he rammed into a blockade of Agency of Transportation plow trucks on Route 2 in Middlesex, police said.
Police announced Friday that Sadler and Larrabee are facing additional charges related to multiple burglaries from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in November.
The two allegedly got into restricted areas of the department with the help of Sonya Lowe, 25, an employee who reportedly was in a relationship with Sadler, according to police.
Police did not offer a list of the items stolen from the department, citing an ongoing investigation, but the release said there is evidence of at least three burglaries last month, when prescription medicine, department property and other evidence was stolen.
Sadler is facing three counts of burglary and possession of stolen property, and Larrabee is to be charged with one felony count of trespassing and possession of stolen property. Both men are in custody.
Lowe is due in court next month to be arraigned on charges related to the burglaries from the department.
