A man described as a member of the Aryan Brotherhood is going to prison for 10 years on federal drug and weapons charges.

Christopher Pappano, 55, of Milton, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on June 8 in U.S. District Court in Rutland, according to a news release from the office of the U.S. attorney for the District of Vermont.

Pappano pleaded guilty in January to three felony charges: conspiring to distribute cocaine, possession of nine stolen firearms, and having a handgun as a convicted felon.

The news release cited court documents that said Pappano was president of a motorcycle club he formed in 2014 that went by the name The Brotherhood. The group was responsible for two home burglaries and three convenience store robberies, according to authorities. He also pleaded guilty to state charges of assault and grand larceny.

Pappano is reported to be a member of the white supremacist organization the Aryan Brotherhood, according to the release.

After his prison term, Pappano is to serve five years of supervised release.
